There’s lingering excitement in the air as La Menagerie welcomes the birth of a Bornean Orangutan, named Java.
Java is bonding well with her mother and there were no complications whatsoever according to the veterinarians and was born on the 17th of October.
Java is the first of her species to be born in this zoo since 2005.
Her Species has been listed as critically endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN)with an estimated 60,000 remaining globally.
