Staying on fluid developments on the brazen and dastardly killing of Saudi Journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Saudi Arabia says Mr.Khashoggi was murdered, blaming a “rogue operation” for a killing that has sparked an international outcry.

This is as all sorts of conflicting theories have emerged. From the Saudi Authorities first claiming he never gained entrance into the Saudi Consulate to simply acknowledging his exit-the snag, the CCTV didn’t work.

Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir told Fox News the act was a “tremendous mistake” and denied the influential crown prince ordered the killing.

In yet another twist, new allegations linking Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi have been published by a Turkish newspaper.

The report by pro-government daily Yeni Safak alleges the Crown Prince telephoned the Washington Post columnist moments before he was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul earlier this month.

While the claim has not been verified by officials in public, Turkish authorities have consistently leaked details of the investigation to pro-government media outlets and their reports have been largely accurate.

Saudi Arabia has been under pressure to explain what happened, having first said Mr. Khashoggi was alive.

He was last seen entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2 October.
