Usain Bolt’s agent, Ricky Simms says that the 32-year-old Jamaican has been offered a professional football contract by Australian Side Central Coast Mariners.

The eight-time Olympic sprint champion, who retired from athletics in 2017, has been on trial with the A-League club and he was offered a two-year deal by Maltese champions Valletta FC but he turned it down.

The club has refused to comment on media speculation. The coach of the side Mike Mulvey said he knows nothing of the supposed contract offer to Bolt.

Bolt, who scored two goals on his first start for the club in a friendly was not in the Mariners squad for the first game of their season in which they drew 1-1 with Brisbane Roar.
