Golden State Warriors’ forward has expressed his displeasure at the Ring Night being on the same night as their season opener, describing it as a distraction.
The Warriors will celebrate their third NBA Championship in four years just before their season opener; the ceremony will have rings handed out to the players as well as the banner being raised.
Durant, who was the NBA Finals MVP for the second consecutive year is not pleased with the celebrations being on the same night as their game, saying:
It’s a distraction from the game, it’s a great distraction don’t get me wrong, but when you’ve got to play a basketball game and right before you’ve got to focus on something else it tends to throw you off a bit.
Golden State Warriors open their season against Oklahoma City Thunder at the Oracle Arena. This will be the Warriors’ last season at the Oracle Arena located in Oakland, before moving to their new home, Chase Center at San Francisco for the 2019-2020 NBA season.
