Aston Villa has appointed Dean Smith and John Smith as their new coach and assistant coach respectively in a massive management shake-up.
Dean Smith was Brentford’s manager before Aston Villa snapped him up and Villa will have to compensate Brentford financially. Meanwhile, John Terry who retired days back from playing football will begin his managerial career as Dean Smith’s assistant at the club.
Smith and Terry will meet with the club’s players on Monday, with their first match in charge holding next Saturday against Swansea City at Villa Park.
Aston Villa also announced Jesus Garcia Pitarch, former Valencia and Athletico Madrid director of football as their new sporting director. Villa will hope these new changes in management will bring about a turnaround in fortunes both on and off the field.
