The National APC Chairman, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has requested that government convert unused pieces of land to grazing routes to reduce clashes between herdsmen and farmers.
He opined this at a National Summit themed ‘Towards an Enduring Peace’.
According to him, the proposed solution would help cattle rearers to change their nomadic lifestyles to a more sedentary one, helping to better maintain their livestock and improve the quality of their lives.
Furthermore, he also explained that the scuffle between the herders and farmers was mainly due to desertification causing the nomads to move southwards.
