Premier League to launch inaugural ePremier League

The English Premier League is set to launch its first esports competition, the ePremier League.

The inaugural ePremier League will start in January and will witness UK based gamers compete with one another on FIFA 2019.

There will be an initial online qualification round, with clubs hosting live play-off rounds, each of the 20 clubs that will reach the final will have two competitors.

The final will hold from the 28th to the 29th of March 2019 in London and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Registration is set to open in December, EA Sports are partners of the tournament which will be accessible on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

England will join countries like Australia, United States, Germany, and France in having an esports league.

Danish side, Brondby are winners of the last two editions of the FIFA eClub World Cups while Saudi Arabia’s Mosaad ‘Msdossary’ Aldossar won the FIFA eWorld Cup in August, beating more than 20 million competitors en route victory.
