Across the different ward units of Lagos state, eligible party members of the all progressives Congress make their choice for the preferred governorship candidate ahead of the 2019 general elections. Votes have been cast and counting in parts of the 20 local government has begun.
This comes following the twists of postponement of the direct primaries. The contest is between the main contenders Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who has the backing of the national leader of the party and present governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode who still hopes to govern the state for a second term.
The intrigues are expected to continue to unfold as party faithful wait for the final results.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu cast his vote at ward e3, Lagos Island. Speaking to newsmen he said the exercise was transparent.
