In a statement issued by the secretary of state, Michael Pompeo, on the occasion of Nigeria’s 58th independence anniversary celebration on Monday, the US government congratulated Nigeria and its people on the occasion
The statement said the US government has faith that Nigeria will emphasize its leadership role in Africa through free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections in 2019.
The US government also extolled what it called Nigeria’s dynamic economy and its people’s great entrepreneurial spirit
