Amazon to announce a free Video Service to compete with TV Ads for IMDb

Amazon plans to announce a Free-ad supported video service for Amazon Fire TV users this week.

 

The plan is expected to help Amazon grow shares in digital advertising which is currently dominated by Google and Facebook.

Essentially people will be able to watch TV without a Cable or Satellite Subscription and although the market is currently valued at $7 billion, Amazon plans to lure marketers by allowing access to proprietary data to target video advertising on Fire TV.

The public announcement is expected to be made during the Advertising week in New York.
