Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, says that following his intervention, the government of Ghana will revise its policy on foreign businesses.

The policy affected the Nigerian business community in the West African country as at least 400 Nigerian-owned shops were shut in the Ashanti Region at the expiration of an eviction order by the Ministry of Trade.

The lawmaker stated that the freedom of the men and women of the sub-region to engage in their businesses in any part of West Africa was critical to the ECOWAS prosperity.

He added that he has advised the Nigerian business community in Ghana through its National President, Nigerian Union of Traders Associations, Ghana, Mr. Chukwuemeka Nnaji, to remain calm, honest and continue to live peacefully with their hosts in the spirit of African and ECOWAS brotherhood.
