Kano state House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as Deputy Governor of Kano state.
He is to replace the former Deputy Governor, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar who resigned his position last August and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Nasiru Gawuna’s appearance at the Assembly followed a letter from Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje requesting for his confirmation as his Deputy.
Dr Gawuna, a two-term Council chairman and one-time president of Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria was chosen from five contestants.
