With the discontinuation of the case against the installation of the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council, by the Ilajo Clan in Kogi State, Chief Solomon Owoniyi is now free to mount the throne.

During the resumed hearing of the matter on Monday, Peter Abah representing the litigants, the Ilajo family, tactically withdrew the matter saying he had detected an inaccuracy in the suit he filed.

The defendant’s and the state’s counsel did not object to the oral application and asked the court to grant them N1 million and N200,000 respectively for the time wasted by the litigants.

Justice Gwatana found in favour of the oral motion, struck out the case, and charged the litigants N10,000 and N5,000, to be paid to each of the defendants.
