Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the exclusive club of active footballers with 500 senior goals or more, after scoring a ridiculous spinning backheel volley in LA Galaxy’s 5-3 loss to Toronto.
LA Galaxy was three goals down when just before halftime, Zlatan took centre stage with a goal for the ages. It was his 17th goal in 18 appearances since joining from Manchester United in March.
“I’m happy for Toronto because they’ll be remembered as my 500th victim,” he said in his usual sarcastic manner. Zlatan scored 62 goals in 114 appearances for Sweeden and 438 goals at club level to hit the magic number of 500 goals thus far.
