The Anglican communion of the Diocese of Ekiti West has advised politicians to abstain from making unrealistic promises to Nigerians as the election year approaches.
The Synod noted that these empty promises had diminished the interest of Nigerians in the electoral system, as many are discouraged to go out to vote.
Nigerians were also admonished against the practice of vote buying and selling and encouraged to express their rights of free will voting for their preferred candidates.
Nigerians were urged to collect their PVC’s in order to exercise their civic responsibilities as occasion demands.
