UFC fighter Michael Chiesa has sued Conor McGregor over McGregor’s attack on a bus in April. Chiesa was injured in the attack initiated by McGregor.

McGregor threw a steel trolley at the bus conveying him and Khabib Nurmagomedov; a window was broken and Chiesa suffered cuts to his face.

This forced him to withdraw from his UFC 223 fight against Anthony Pettis which was to hold for that weekend; he subsequently lost the rescheduled fight against Pettis in July.

Conor McGregor is being sued for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress; as part of the lawsuit, Michael Chiesa alleges he suffered bodily harm, severe emotional distress and mental trauma.

Although McGregor was arrested following the attack, he struck a plea deal to avoid criminal trial while he undertook five days of community service and completed an anger management course.

The controversial martial arts fighter is due to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov on the 6th of October for the UFC lightweight belt, which will be his first MMA fight in almost two years.
