Legendary golfer, Tiger Woods has joined the likes of LeBron James and Serena Willaims in lending his support to Nike’s latest “Just Do It” commercial which features ex-San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick.
The golf icon who has been affiliated with Nike since turning pro in 1996 describes the ad as Nike’s way of “achieving something special”.
“It’s a beautiful spot, I think Nike is trying to get out ahead of it and trying to do something special and I think they’ve done that. It’s a beautiful spot and pretty powerful people are on the spot.” Woods said at the BMW Championship.
The commercial which highlights the need for one to rise above one’s circumstances, background and challenges in the quest for greatness is highly motivating, yet it has resulted in mixed reactions – lots of protests and a bit of support – mostly due to Colin Kaepernick being the face of the ad.
