Brazil: Jair Bolsonaro aspirant survives Stab wounds

Jair Bolsonaro has undergone surgery for many stab wounds to his mid-section and is listed as being in stable condition after the attack which took place while he was out campaigning in the southeastern city of Juiz de Fora. 


He was campaigning for upcoming elections that also has ex-president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva who was trying to run while in prison, with the first round voting scheduled for October 7.
 
Lula has however been barred from participating by the Supreme Court which disqualified him on Thursday. 
 

Police say the suspect who has been arrested, claimed that he was acting on God’s orders. He has been identified as Adelio Bispo de Oliveira, 40, and was alleged to be part of the left-leaning PSOL party from 2007 to 20014.

Authorities are investigating the state of the suspect’s mental health.

Bolsonaro who has been described as Brazil’s Donald Trump has quite a social media following with 8.5 million people.
