European Coaches of top clubs have requested UEFA to review its rules on away goals at continental competitions in their quest to have it scrapped. They claim it is easier to score away goals now than in the past.

The coaches at the meeting with UEFA’s deputy Secretary General, Giorgio Marchetti, were Jose Mourinho, Unai Emery, Arsene Wenger, Massimiliano Allegri, Julen Lopetegui, Carlo Ancelotti and Thomas Tuchel.

If changed, major European competitions like the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League will no longer use the away goals rule.

The coaches also want the transfer window to end at the same time in all of the region’s major leagues, which is before the commencement of the league season.

While England and Italy have adopted the policy of closing the transfer window prior to the commencement of their leagues, Spain, Germany, and France allow the transfer sessions to continue till the end of August.
