Lagosians have been assured by Mr. Babatunde Hunpe, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Environment, that the state government is working towards clearing refuse from the streets.

Hunpe in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday, said they are collaborating with specialists and Private Sector Participants to ensure that things work out.

He said refuse has been taken off some streets while some areas are yet to be attended to.

The SA blamed this on the PSP operators, who wrongly believed that the state government’s Cleaner Lagos Initiative programme would take business away from them and hand it over to investors.

Hunpe, however, said that the LASG and PSP operators have come to some agreement on the matter, adding that they will be working together again.
