Victor Moses announces his Retirement

Nigeria and Chelsea winger, Victor Moses has announced his retirement from international football as he looks to focus fully on his club career and his young family.

The Chelsea star announced his shock retirement from the three-time African champions via Twitter.

He said: “I have experienced some of the best moments of my life wearing the Super Eagles shirt and have memories with me that will last a lifetime.”

“However I feel that now is the right time to step away in order to be able to focus fully on club career and my young family as well as to allow the next generation of Super Eagle stars the opportunity to step up and to flourish.” He added.

Victor Moses last featured for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia where he played all three Group D games and scored in the final group game against Argentina as the Eagles lost 2 – 1.

Since making his debut in 2012, Victor Moses has scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for the team.
