A Senior Lecturer of the Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, was before a Court in Makurdi, for alleged criminal conspiracy and rape of an underaged house-help.
The court remanded Andrew Ogbuja, 51, in prison custody for allegedly raping the girl while she lived in his house.
The court also heard that the son of suspect, Victor Ogbuja, had also raped her.
Police reports say while the lecturer was arrested for the crime, his son, Victor, managed to escape arrest.
Meanwhile, the accused begged the judge for mercy.
