As the 2018 pilgrims from Plateau State prepare to leave for Saudi Arabia, the State Governor, Simon Lalong strongly advised them not to abscond.
He advised them to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of Plateau State and pray for the peace and progress of the State.
Lalong while addressing the 815 pilgrims, told them that the spiritual depth of their conviction must be reflected in the pious conduct of the exercise in the Holy Land.
He urged them to follow all the rules and regulations to ensure a hitch-free pilgrimage, stressing that his administration would continue to ensure it deals justly with all citizens of the State.
He further guaranteed the Muslim community that: “Government is still committed to carrying out the renovation on the already acquired property with a wide expanse of land in the Rikkos New Layout, to serve as the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Permanent Office as well as a Transit Camp for our intending Muslim Pilgrims”.
