Turkey has announced that it will withdraw the access of two top U.S Officials to Turkish assets in response to US penalties placed on two Turkish Ministers.
According to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the sanctions on the two Turkish Ministers was over the continued detention of U.S pastor Andrew Brunson.
Erdogan was quoted as saying: “Today, I am also instructing my colleagues: we are going to freeze the assets of American justice and interior ministers in Turkey if they have any.’’
In his first public reaction to the incident, Erdogan said: “Diplomatic channels are working very intensely,” adding that he hoped that the U.S will “return to common sense as soon as possible.”
