The Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali, has endorsed the redeployment of 70 Comptrollers in view of the challenges in fighting smuggling, revenue collection and trade facilitation.
The service’s Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah announced this in a statement by the CGC on Friday in Abuja.
Mr. Attah stated that the CGC, while approving the redeployment, said federal government’s policies on agriculture, economy and security can only succeed with a tough, focused and patriotic customs service.
According to him, the CGC encourages the affected officers to bring their experiences to bear in the new postings by ending smuggling and collecting all revenue that should come to the service.
He added that the redeployment takes effect immediately.
