An Uber/ Lyft driver has live streamed 700 passengers without their consent on Twitch, a video streaming platform over the past few months.
Jason Gargac who sometimes revealed the details of his passengers on his account which has a following of 4,350 who pay a $5 monthly subscription to subscribe to his channel & support it financially.
Gargac claims he streamed his passengers for transparency and security reasons and according to Missouri State Law, the ride-hailing services and Gargac have done no wrong.
An interview with an Uber representative affirmed that truly in Missouri, recording passengers without their consent is not illegal.
This puts a big question mark on the validity of the invasion of privacy rights in the State.
