INEC has demanded an apology from Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, over allegations that the commission intended to rig last Saturday’s governorship election held.

National Commissioner in charge of Election Operations and Logistics, Amina Bala Zakari, insisted that Governor Fayose should apologise after he called her an agent hired by the candidate of the APC, Dr Kayode Fayemi, to manipulate the poll.

Mrs Zakari, through her lawyer, Ubong Esop Akpan in a letter, demanded the apology be made in all the national newspapers in the country within forty-eight hours of receiving the letter.

The letter also requested the governor to immediately cease further scurrilous publications and press statements on the INEC National Commissioner.
