Cairo: 12 Injured in Tanker Explosion

A fuel tanker explosion near Egypt’s Cairo International Airport has injured 12 people.

The Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister, Mohamed Younis al-Masri said that the explosion of two tankers belonging to a petrochemical company was caused by high temperature and the fire is under control.

Domestic and international flights were however not affected by the explosion as operations went on normally.

The explosion occurred on Thursday night in Cairo’s Heliopolis district.
