Protesters this morning attacked a fire station in Gugulethu‚ Cape Town, setting part of the building alight.
A vehicle belonging to a security company that was parked outside was also torched.
Other firefighters who attempted to help were prevented from reaching the scene by protesters.
Cape Town Fire and Rescue spokesman Theo Layne confirmed the development to journalists but said nobody was injured.
