French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the French government has signed a development finance agreement with Tony Elumelu Foundation. He said this yesterday during a talk show with over 2000 TEF Alumni in Lagos.
According to the French president, the agreement is worth 1 billion Euros and is aimed at building on the current achievements of the TEF across Africa.
TEF had in 2015 set-aside $100 million to train, mentor and fund 10,000 entrepreneurs across Africa while building a new generation of entrepreneurs in Africa to change the narratives of the African socio-economic experience.
Tony Elumelu also noted during the programme yesterday that the collaboration was a proof that the French president recognises that African entrepreneurs are the key players in the much anticipated economic transformation in Africa.
