During the France-Nigeria Business Forum held on Wednesday in Lagos, France’s Secretary of State to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Mrs Delphine Geny Stephann expressed their readiness to support the Lagos State transportation system with €200 million as she classified Lagos as one of the most populated city on the continent.
According to her, the €200 million will soon come to help in setting up an efficient public transportation system in Lagos, although she acknowledged that this will not be enough and further called on private sectors and other related companies for help and expertise.
Ms Yewande Sadiku, CEO of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission said the Federal governments’ commencement of the Economic recovery growth plan is also expected to grow the nation’s economy and France support will be well embraced for the actualisation of the project.
Other issues of concern raised at the forum were the image of both Nigeria being one of violence, corruption and a difficult business environment which Mrs Delphine deemed as “not an accurate vision”.
