The Christian Association of Nigeria -CAN have raised the alarm over an alleged planned attack on Southern Kaduna and other areas dominated by Christians in some states of the Middle Belt region.
CAN President, Rev Dr Samson Ayokunle, in a statement by his spokesman, Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, identified the targets to include Gumel, Kagoro, Daddu, Mariri, Dagwarga, open university, hotels among others.
The CAN president said, while alarms like this are often disregarded, the Association felt constrained to draw the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies and urge them to take precautionary steps to forestall the planned attacks.
Ayokunle reiterated his appeal for the president to replace the inspector general of police and other security chiefs as they have failed in the last three years to bring those who carry out the criminal murder of innocent people to justice.
While thanking Vice President, Yemi Osinbanjo for the assurance that perpetrators of the killings of 86 people over the weekend in Plateau state will be brought to justice, CAN appeals that the federal government keep the promise to ensure justice for the victims so aimlessly murdered.
