A 7-man panel has been set up by the Plateau State House of Assembly to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the weekend attacks in 11 villages in Barikin Ladi Local Government Area and some villages in Bokkos and Riyom.
Headed by Mr Yusuf Gagdi, the panel is also to identify the perpetrators, determine communities affected, the extent of damage as well as make appropriate recommendations.
The committee was set up following a motion moved at plenary by the member representing Jos, Barikin Ladi Constituency, Mr Peter Ibrahim, over the attacks
Speaker of the House Mr, Peter Azi says they are expected to report to the House in four weeks.
At least 86 persons were confirmed killed by suspected herdsmen in the attacks over the weekend.
