The Peoples Democratic Party has asked former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi to account for 16.7 billion naira which they claim Fayemi’s administration under-declared as Internal Generated Revenue, IGR.

This comes after he said his administration had an average of 600-million-naira monthly IGR, which was a total of 7.2billion naira in a fiscal year.

According to the PDP, the figures submitted to the National Bureau of Statistics, the Federal Ministry of Finance, Office of the Accountant General of the Federation to list a few, did not correspond with Fayemi’s declaration.

According to PDP chairman, Mr. Gboyega Oguntuase, while analysing Fayemi’s claims, said going by the former governor’s figures, his administration under-declared its IGR, as in 2013 it was 2.3 billion naira, giving a monthly average of 198 million naira leaving a 4.9-billion-naira balance.

3.5 billion naira in 2014 at a monthly average of 299 million naira leaving a 3.7-billion-naira balance.

He, however, said that comparing this with Fayemi’s claims, total unaccounted balance in four years is 16.7 billion naira, and asking that Fayemi accounts for the remaining funds.

In an attempt to debunk the allegations by PDP, Fayemi’s campaign Organisation demanded that they stop concocting ridiculous figures as his organisation also claimed this was not the first time Fayose and his men doctored figures to show Fayemi put the state in debt or that he stole money.
