The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers has condemned the 11.5-billion naira cut in the 2018 budget by the National Assembly on allocations for infrastructure.
In a statement released through its president, Comrade Williams Akporeha yesterday in Lagos, the union posited that the negative socio-economic impact of the action on regional and national projects like the second Niger Bridge, East-West road, Bonny-Bodo highway, and Lagos-Ibadan expressway, would be grave.
According to the union, trunk roads were left out at a time the union is advocating a declaration of a state of emergency on road infrastructure.
The statement, therefore, called on the authorities and relevant stakeholders to review the decision in the interest of all Nigerians.
