President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday, June 19, sign the 2018 Appropriation Act into law. Report by News Agency, Reuters, quotes the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed as disclosing this yesterday in London.
While also reacting to concerns expressed by Nigerians over the effect of the late passage of the budge on the economy, the Minister reassured that the delay will have little effect on government projects.
Recall that the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, had on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, stated that President Buhari would sign the budget next week.
He did not specify an exact date but said details would follow later.
The 2018 Appropriation Bill was in November 2017 presented before the National Assembly. It was only passed by the lawmakers in May 2018, six months later.
