Ebonyi state Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Francis Orji, has been suspended indefinitely for gross misconduct by governor David Umahi.
This was made known during a joint press briefing by the state Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Emmanuel Onwe and other states Executive Council (EXCO) members.
The suspended commissioner is alleged to have committed acts embarrassing to the state government.
Orji was formerly in charge of water resources before being moved to the Ministry of Border, Peace and Conflict Resolution and subsequently re-deployed to the Ministry of Solid Minerals.
The Deputy Principal Secretary, Emmanuel Obasi is to take charge as the acting commissioner for 30 days.
