A Nairobi clinic named Surgeoderm Healthcare is under scrutiny by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board for performing a breast enlargement surgery that led to the death of a patient, Ms June Wanja.
Reports say that Ms Wanja developed complications after the breast enlargement surgery and was brought to Nairobi Hospital on Wednesday.
Upon checking her, doctors realised her blood pressure was running low as her inner organs were already in a bad way.
Ms Wanja died on Thursday as a result of the complications.
A family member revealed that her intestines had been cut during the cosmetic operation, allowing for all of the waste to leak and spread within her abdomen, which led to an infection known as sepsis.
Attempts to reach the clinic have been futile as all calls to them have been ignored.
Moving forward, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPD)has called on relatives of the deceased to file a report for formal action on the case and for proper investigation of the incident.
