Former Ondo state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has been presented with the Labour Party membership card, after his controversial defection from the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
He defected on Wednesday, saying he left the PDP for “personal reasons”.
Although the national chairman of a faction of the Labour Party Mike Omotosho had earlier rejected Mimiko’s defection, saying he was not welcome to the back.
The factional chairman stated that Mimiko left the party few days to its national convention in October 2014, after securing re-election on the party’s platform.
He said the former governor’s action amounted to a betrayal of the party that gave him a political career.
incidentally, not many of Mimiko’s associates in the state followed him back to the Labour Party.
