Kim Sends message to Trump

The keenly anticipated meeting between US president, Donald Trump, and North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un took place on Tuesday, June 11, at a Singapore island resort.

Reports say the leaders warmly received each other and went on to have a private meeting that lasted for approximately 40-minutes.

Before the meeting, the US president anticipated that he and Kim might agree on a nuclear deal or an official end to the Korean War.

Kim through a translator said that the journey to Singapore was not easy due to the past, as wrong biases and actions had to be overcome.

However, some observers have criticised the meeting claiming it validates Kim on the world stage.

Trump via Twitter responded that the meeting had recorded some successes.
