Ohanaeze Ndigbo has faulted the non-inclusion of defunct National Electoral Commission chairperson, Prof. Humphrey Nwosu, on the June 12 honourees list by the Federal Government.

Prof. Nwosu had earlier announced that he would not be able to attend Tuesday’s investiture ceremony which held in Abuja.

In a statement, spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu, stated that the group is upset at the exclusion of Prof. Nwosu who conducted the June 12, 1993 election, adjudged to be the freest and fairest in the country.

While describing the exclusion as a grievous omission that needs to be urgently corrected, Ibegbu emphasized that restructuring the country, and the implementation of most of the resolutions of the 2014 National Confab. The Report is the solution to the nation’s problems.

The group, which also condemned the emergence of Kano State as the state with the highest slots in the last recruitment into the police force, also called for the immediate creation of an additional state and local governments in the South East to address the prolonged structural marginalisation of the zone in the country.
