Kola-Ologbondiyan calls on National peace committee to bring buhari to order

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)says it supports the honour done to the acclaimed winner of June 12, 1993, presidential election, late Chief MKO Abiola, by the Federal Government.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement released in Abuja on Sunday, said the party, however, rejects President Muhammadu Buhari’s disposition to use the award to showcase himself as a Democrat ahead of 2019 presidential election.

Ologbondiyan noted that bestowing a posthumous national award on Abiola did not make Buhari a democrat and urged the Presidency to save the nation international scorn of attempting to use the event for political capital and to desperately garner votes.

He said Chief Abiola in his lifetime, stood for personal liberty of citizens, national cohesion and free press, all of which are upheld by the PDP.
