Ohanaeze Ndigbo has praised the Supreme Court decision in the case between Innoson Group of Companies and Guaranty Trust Bank.

The group’s President-General, Chief Nnia Nwodo, in a statement by his Media Adviser Emeka Attamah, released in Abuja today said that the apex court by the judgment refused to be used in an ethnic warfare to deny Innoson of a judicial victory at the Court of Appeal.

Nwodo who attributed Innoson’s ordeals to the systematic harassment and intimidation of Igbo sons and daughters in the country due to ethnic sentiments recalled the harrowing experiences of other Igbo sons, such as Chief Cletus Ibeto and Chief Ifeanyi Uba, whose businesses were also almost grounded by perceived detractors.

He also accused the EFCC of colliding with some persons to deny Innoson of his rights and to smear his merited reputation as a foremost manufacturer and investor in the country.

The President-General asked Guaranty Trust Bank to immediately obey the court order and pay the specified amount in order to restore the confidence of the people in it.
