A medallion to commemorate the June 12 summit between the United States President, Donald Trump and his North Korean counterpart has been unveiled in Singapore.
Bearing the inscription “World Peace”, the medallion features a dove and olive branch motif, which is the biblical symbol of peace.
The summit is the first between a sitting US president and a North Korean leader. The aim is to start discussions targeted at putting an end to the North’s nuclear weapons programme.
Although the venue for the summit is yet to be confirmed, Singapore has already declared a special event zone, which includes its foreign ministry, the U.S embassy and the Shangri-La hotel among others.
The meeting had earlier suffered a setback when Trump pulled out in May alleging open hostilities from Pyongyang.
