The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has dispelled rumours that it has endorsed a candidate for presidency for the 2019 elections.
Spokesman for Ohanaeze, Chuks Ibegbu, noted that the body will consult widely among Igbo stakeholders before taking a decision on 2019.
Ibegbu, in a statement issued yesterday, warned that anyone parading himself as Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s candidiate is wasting his time as Ohanaeze will only support a detribalised candidate who believes in restructuring Nigeria.
Ohanaeze decried the constant marginalisation of the states in the South-East, in areas of recruitment, jobs in civil service, allocations and representation in the National Assembly.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo had proposed a restructuring agenda at a recent one-day summit held in Awka, Anambra State.
