The wife and children of the Zamfara state Commissioner of Youth, Sport and Skills Acquisition, Abdullahi Gurbin-bore, who were kidnapped May 22 by unknown gunmen, have been released.
The state commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson confirmed this on Monday at the police headquarters in Gusau. He added that no ransom was paid to the kidnappers but the victims were released based on pressure placed on them by security agencies. Meanwhile, in Talata-Mafara and Zumi local government areas, the commissioner stated that the command had arrested three suspected kidnappers. Mr Ebrimson also condemned the act of giving information to criminals especially in the rural area, as this has been the reason for the increase in crime rate.
