The Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) on Monday disclosed that it had sealed off the premises of two companies due to their failure to pay their taxes.

The affected companies are Giandan Nigeria Limited located at 21, Ladoke Akintola Street, Ikeja over a tax debt of N47.770 million, and Justeen International Limited over the sum of N24.779 million-tax debt.

The exercise was led by the Assistant Manager, Legal, FIRS, Ruth Manduen who said that it was quite upsetting that the FIRS had to close down some of these companies, but that it was the right thing to do under the lawful mandate.

She said that both companies that were sealed off were both defaulters and that they are both aware of the repercussions that come with non-payment.

She further assured that both companies would be reopened after outstanding debts have been cleared. She added that the FIRS is fully committed to ensuring that all individuals and corporate entities pay their taxes in a prompt fashion.
