Benue state was, this weekend, again greeted with more bloodbath, as the Chairman of Kwande council, Mr Terdoo Kenti, has confirmed the slaying of another seven persons by gunmen suspected to be herders. The assailants also injured six others
In addition to the killing and maiming, Kenti told journalists, the assailants also abducted a lady in the Saturday night at Tseadough town.
according to the council chairman, the assailants also set ablaze several homes in the community.
He said the dead casualties are currently at the morgue while those with different degrees of injuries were taken to the infirmary for treatment.
The council boss, however, urged the citizenry and other residents of the area, to resist the urge to panic, regardless of the assault, just as he cautioned against any type of retaliation. he reassured residents that security operatives and other relevant authorities had been informed about the occurrence.
