King Salman of Saudi Arabia has threatened to take military action if Qatar goes ahead and installs a Russian air defense system.
Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE broke off their diplomatic and economic alliance with neighboring Qatar last year, accusing the Qatari government of supporting terrorism, which it has denied.
The Russian ambassador to Qatar said earlier this year, that Qatar has shown interest in purchasing the Russian S-400 missile air defense systems.
King Salman of Saudi Arabia has expressed his concerns over the planned purchase of the defense systems.
He also added that if this were to go ahead, that the Saudi Arabian government would take steps towards eliminating the systems and other military action.
Saudi Arabia has reached out to the French government for assistance in furthering the sale of the missiles and promote peace in the region.
