Following the resignation of Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu due to personal family matters, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, the Chairman of the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has been appointed to replace him as the Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Convention Committee.
The National Publicity Secretary of APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, confirmed Ndoma-Egba’s appointment by the National Working Committee in a chat with a news agency.
He dismissed reports that the former secretary was forced to resign as a way of agreeing to the demands of his state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, who threatened to leave the party should his demand for a new secretary not be met.
He added that the reasons the former secretary gave were personal, and to show clearly that this was not a tradeoff, his replacement, Ndoma-Egba is from Cross River and not Imo state
